I’m just curious if others are finding this happening.
If I have any of the iWork apps open, After Effects slow right down to an unusable speed.

    macpro 2.8 octo 10gig Leopard 10.5.2 AE CS3

To begin with it was happening on my g5 before I upgraded and I thought it was restarting that helped but all I really have to do is is quit iWork.

I’m guessing this is an apple thing.

    Hope this helps someone.

Look at your Activity Monitor while running both applications. I once noticed that I had a printer utility that loaded in the background occasionally and slowed my entire computer down significantly. In my case I just removed the printer utility, and that may not be an option for you with the iWork apps, but it may be a utility/driver that loads with iWork that you can run without. Order your processes by the amount of CPU they’re using.

Also, probably a non-issue, but are you running Universal versions of iWork?

Yep it’s UB version, I’m pretty sure iWork came out after the transition to intel and was only written as UB.
Nothing seems to be using much CPU when running iWork and it is only After effects that is effected. C4d and all others run fine.

It’s not a major problem I just thought there might be others experiencing this.

    Thanks for your reply
