I’ve finished editing a movie with the proxies that I originally converted from raw red 4k files… Now that the Final Cut of the movie is done, I wanted to reconvert it to the original raw red 4k files and export to start post production. The problem is that I have the proxies in one hard drive and the hard drive where I have the original raw red 4k files is lost….Is there any way I could reconvert the 720 proxies to the original raw red 4k files without having those original red raw 4k files at hand.

    Hey Arias,

No, it is not possible to reconvert proxies to the original raw red 4k files without having the original files at hand. Proxies are lower resolution versions of the original files and do not contain all the data and information needed for a full-quality conversion. In order to export the Final Cut in full-quality 4K, the original raw red 4k files are required. If the original files cannot be found, it may be necessary to start over with new footage or try to recover the lost files through data recovery services.
