OK, I’ve been editing for almost 2 days straight, I’m bleary eyed and am still relatively new to Premiere Pro. My brain has hit the brick wall….

I’ve got a bunch of raw footage clips in a bin and want to export all of them and maintain file names and time code. Surely there’s way to do that, right. I just can’t find it.

    Yea, I know… don’t call me Shirley!

I’ll be napping on the edit suite couch while I await one of you kind souls to rescue me.

    ZZZzzzzzz………..

    Thanks,
    Steve

Open Adobe Media Encoder, drag original files onto the Window, apply preset and export.

If you don’t try to save the files in the same folder, they’ll maintain the same file name.

    Brilliant Angelo – you rock!

One more question from the brain dead if you don’t mind. I’ve got something like 200 hundred clips. When I drag them into Media Encoder, it defaults the output file to the same location as the source. Is there a way to change the output files to go to a folder I define – without doing each file individually?

    Thanks,
    Steve

Edit > Preferences > General. Last setting will be a checkbox for default export location, select it and select a path. You should be set.

You might also try using Prelude.

    Thanks Tero,

I haven’t tried Prelude yet, but will download and give it a go… just to play with an alternative. I’ve heard some limited (but good) things about Prelude. I take it you like the app and find it useful? How well does it fit into your workflow?

    Best,
    Steve
