it’s more than gamma shift, TIFFs very very severe crushing
Hi again guys,
i know this sounds like the age old gamma shift issue but it isn’t
i dont think so anyway – if it is it’s way more severe than the usual.Any image i bring into final cut is ridiculously dark.
And no amount of gamma shifting or colour correction can brink back
the detail which is totally crushed out.
And yet the source file is fine. Here is an example of the same image viewed in preview or photoshop
vs the same image (rendered and viewed at 100%) in FCP:I having tried everything i can find by searching the forum
(changing timeline settings maximum white to super white etc etc)
Bringing the stills into a non DV (prores) project & so on..I am using high quality tiffs in FCP 7.03 on OSX 10.5.8
This is a DV PAL project for DVD delivery.I have done tests by making DVDs and playing them on TVs to look at the colours – not so very different from on my apple monitors – blacks utterly crushed (to the point that you can’t see anything darker than a mid blue) , colours super saturated…
Does a workaround exist?
I anyone could even give me a hint that would be so helpful as i’m completely out of time.Apologies if i’m being a simpleton also…
