    Please can anyone offer any tips or direct me to a tutorial as to how to make a curtain (swish).. I suppose to use a displacment map and a search of this site brought up some useful information noteably a type of fractal noise called ‘curtains’ . Is this in AE 7 cos I cant find it ??

    You can make a curtain effect with standard fractal noise.

    Add a new solid to your comp, make it black.
    Go to : Effect>Noise and Grain>Fractal Noise.
    Change the transformation settings to : Scale height 4000 ; Scale Width 100 (approximately)
    Set a keyframe for the Evolution. At the end of the time line change the evolution value to -2
    Now you should have a moving curtain….

    Use a clororam preset to add some colour..
