Has anyone else had a lot of problems with using final cut pro version 5.0.1 on a mac pro? It has been crashing on me quite often today. Here is my question, I am currently adding some markers to my time line to sink up some sections in my audio track with footage (need to sync to a narration) to do this I typically will play through the time line at least 2x the regular speed by pressing the L key twice so that I can quickly go through it. This is usually not a problem it works fine. However now when I try to play through the timeline, it plays fine at regular speed but when I try to speed it up there is no sound and nothing registering on the audio monitors. It was working fine earlier today. I have rendered the audio in the timeline. Am I missing something or is there a setting that possibly got changed that will not allow me to hear the audio at faster speeds.

I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY HELP!

You mean FCP 5.1 and not 5.0.1, right? If you have 5.01 you need to update to 5.1 immediately for use on a macpro. The only way to do that is to send for a cross grade our buy FCP studio universal retail.

if you do indeed have 5.1, then try trashing your preferences. Here’s a handy app that will help you do so:

    https://fcprescue.andersholck.com/

    or this:

https://www.chesa.com/pro/ Look at FCP Attic. Both are free.

You may have turned off your audio scrubbing. I believe that the toggle command is Shift-s.
