Items property (Null Object)
Posted by Phil Largilliere on May 11, 2016 at 4:17 pmHi every one.
I would like to disabled all the null object in every comp in my project, and only null objects. But how can I know what kind of type are all the layers in my comps ?
Thanks a lot.

May 11, 2016 at 5:33 pmWhat do you mean by “disable”. And why would you want that?

May 12, 2016 at 8:11 amI mean disable : enabled = false. And I want that because I need to disable all the null objects.

Or try writing or finding a script to do them as a batch.Adrian D\’Alessio aka; Fluxstringer

May 12, 2016 at 8:48 amthat’s exactly I want to do : create a script to do that ? I have some of 200 items by project, I won’t do that by hand.

May 12, 2016 at 2:31 pmDisabling is a very wide concept in AE. You could want to delete, unlink, make them have no effect etc.
Now I see you wanted to just toogle video OFF.
Unfortunately I’m unaware of any automated way to do that just for nulls.

May 12, 2016 at 5:37 pmVictoria Nece (who recently became the Ae product manager) wrote a script a while back that will help you select all nulls in a comp, among other things. Very useful!

I’m curious what you expect to accomplish with this, though. Are you just trying to hide the handles from nulls in the viewer?

May 13, 2016 at 1:20 amMaybe he is preparing templates for publication in an effects package. The end user would not be able to modify them or reconstruct them to suit user purposes. If the user sat how the nullls were constructed they could possibly construct their own.
