I am trying to add text on to some video clips I have but whichever font I choose I always end up with an italic font, even though I choose ‘plain’ in the font styles menu.

Can anyone advise me how i can get a norma ‘roman’ font?

    Its driving me mad!

    Thanks

    Neil

What version of FCP is this? What version of the OS?

    All the best,

I’ve had that happen too, in older versions.

My workaround was to create text in photoshop and import. I guess you could try livetype/motion/Boris Title 3D.

I have been told that some older versions of FCP didn’t handle certain fonts very well and would just guess in some cases. I usually had some fonts work, but others showed up italic no matter what.

    good luck!

    i’ve had this problem too – i think it’s a bug

    to get round it:

go to your fontbook and disable/ delete all but the plain version
of the font you want to use. This seems to stop the italics override.
