Going to Kenya, Uganda for 30 days to film in 2 AIDS orphanages.

they said I could pick any camera package (within reason) and it seems like the panasonic 200 won. Problem, I am leaving on November 26th and the 200 will probably not be available.

I am hoping to get alittle help..

    I need a complete package

MIC (senheiser shotgun?- I have 2 already on my sony pd 150’s – should I get another or change?)

TAPES ( i prefer to stick with sony tapes cause that is all my dsr-11 has seen- over 3000 of them- and I am paranois about mixing media in my deck.. – but I need to carry 100 tapes with me and I am thinking maybe I should shoot on 83 minute panasoonic tapes to save on room…)

LIGHT – simple on board light with chymera- all purpose –

BATTERIES – a battery that can run camera and light (does that exist?)

CAMERA CASE – to carry all this stuff, but I need it to be a carry on the plane.. CAMERA is GOD (I realize that 100 tapes will probably not fit in my camera case, i will pyt some of those in my other pack)

WIDE ANGLE LENS – probably a good idea, to capture AFRICAN landscape

TRIPOD – small and light.. this may not make the trip!

any help would be greatly appreciated..

I am going to get all this stuff an then wait to the last minute to get the camera.. hopefully I can at least get the 100b

I’d go with the DVX. HVX’s are going to be nearly impossible to find by your shoot date and there won’t be a Firestore until early next year meaning you’ll have to spend a boatload in P2 cards.
