issues with the sound during ram preview on AE CS5

I am working with AE CS5 on a macbook pro with 8GB ram.
When I try to preview for instance several seconds from the middle of my comp the sound
is sometimes in sync sometimes it renders me the start of my sound file
the sound file is in the comp, its not precomposed, I tried to purge with no results, I
work on AE since 10 years and i just don’t get it.

Have you installed the After Effects CS5 (10.0.2) update? The recent updates fix many problems, including some with audio.

No, but I was expecting a more consistent response especially from a guy working for Adobe.
I just need to know if this is a bug, so is this a bug ? Did anybody experiment a similar problem ?

Ok I checked some other posts where you answered on this more precisely and acknowledged this was a bug. I’will update. You don’t need to answer this one.

Good luck on your updating. I haven’t been successful and have actually given up – for now at least. Somehow, with frequent saving being a near ritual with me, I tend to prefer living with whatever shortcomings there are with the version I have instead of having to face the crappy server errors and other erroneous msgs even with an apparently clean download from the Adobe site.

I am in the middle of a work and I sure wouldn’t jeopardize everything with a an update now…
Who knows what new shortcomings I will have to face then…
Nevertheless (and as Todd unfortunately did not mention here but in another thread)
if U use a waw file instead of AIFF it works, that’s good enough for me.
Your happiness depends on your ability to experiment satisfaction said the dalai lama)
And this one made me very satisfied and happy.
