I am making some tweaks to an old project but every time I try to render anything it gives me the Error: Out of Memory message. I have all my projects on external hard drives and I tried clearing out space on the drive the project is on there are currently 12 available gigs. I even tried switching over the rendering to another drive but it didn’t work. I am only getting this issue with this particular project. Any suggestions?

There is likely some media there that FCP doesn’t like. The memory error isn’t drive problems, it’s RAM problems.

Blank Layers in Photoshop files imported to FCP can cause this for example.

What is the format of the sequence you’re working with, and what are the properties of the source clips?
