  • Issues with merged clips.

Just wondering if anyone else experiences strange behaviour with merged clips.
Currently working on a feature shot on HD Cam audio recorded to Broadcast Wave, 6 channels.
Converting the waves to movs with Sebsky tools and then merging them in FCP works great.
However using trim mode gives very strange results in the trim window. Match-framing can also call up
strange results. Lastly some shots were done with two cameras and multicaming merged clips
makes some clips with audio and video all over the place. Wondering if there is a work around
or should I just avoid merging clips and do it by hand in the sequences.

System is Quad G5, 8 gig ram, Decklink HD Extreme, 4 terrabytes of storage.

I’m not sure of the exact nature of your problem, but if it helps you could export your clips once they are merged, and then bring them back in as new quicktimes, or merge them in sequences and export those.

In Final Cut’s past, this has been a useful work around.

I can’t use the Wavs because they are six channel wavs and final cut doesn’t support the format.
