    Issues with alpha channels on layer maps

    Last week I upgraded to Invigorator Pro 5.0.5 and now I’m having an issue with alpha channels on layer maps. I am working with a logo animation that I built in SD last year using Invig Pro 4.5.1 in After Effects CS3 and a everything worked fine. But when I open the same file in CS5/Invig Pro 5.0.5, it no longer honors the layer map’s alpha channels. I can see the fill from the layer map, but it shows gray in the areas that the alpha channels should be cutting out. I need to update the logo animation to HD, but can’t do it until I get this issue resolved. Can anyone help me with this?

    Hi Cliff,

    To fix this, go into the Material Editor, and load up the material with the Layer Map. Then, uncheck the option “Base Color”. The grey base color is showing up, which is why the alpha channel is not being read correctly. Once you turn off the Base Color, you will be able to see the transparency without any issues.
