  • Issues with Adobe QT32 Server when starting Premiere Pro CS5 or Media Encoder

    Hi there,

When I launch Premiere Pro CS5 and/or Adobe Media Encoder CS5 both programs hang on the splash screen at the point they say “Loading ImporterQuickTime.bundle”. When I look at Activity Monitor it says Adobe Premiere Pro not responding, and the process Adobe QT32 Server is chewing up all the resources.

If I force quit this process from the Activity Monitor, Premiere Pro CS5 resumes loading and eventually starts.

The same thing happens when I export from PP CS5 to Media Encoder, and likewise if I kill off the Adobe QT32 Server process, then Media encoder comes good and the export starts.

    My questions are…
    1. whats does the Adobe QT32 Server process do?
    2. Am I causing issues by killing it off?
    3. Could this also be the reason my exports are so slow – for instance a 2 hour piece of footage with basic transitions being exported to Vimeo SD setting is saying that it will take around 30 hours. Is this normal?

I have researched other posts on this saying that its a plugin conflict or something though I have followed a number of their suggestions and still had the same issues.

I am using version 5.04, part of the CS5 bundle, on a Macbook Pro 15″ 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, with 4gb ram.

    Appreciate your help.

    Many thanks,
    Matt
