Issues swapping non firewire p6000 board to firewire board?
I currently have Media 100i 8.2.1 on Mac G4 OS 10.2.8 with a non firewire p6000 board. I have the option to switch to a different p6000 board with the firewire input. Does anyone think there will be any issues with Media 100 after doing this? The sales guy at Boris FX thought it would work, but would need to upgrade Media 100 to version 8.2.3a, though i am not sure that version will work on my OS? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I ran a P6000 board with DV on OS9 with 7.5.1
I’m sure 8.2.1 will be fine.A new board *might* require a different serial – but if it does, just ask M100 and they’ll email it to you.
On my P6000, the DV was provided by a daughterboard – a Sony DVBK1 if I remember correctly – point being, if your current P6000 has the firewire port but no daughterboard, you could keep the same P6000 card and swap over the daughterboard.
I upgraded from a Vincent card to a P6000 with a Sony DVBK1. I recall all I needed was a serial code that matched the new hardware, which M100 support emailed to me for free.
That said, I’m out of the loop with M100 these days.
Hoping to get the latest build in the next year though – fingers crossed.
