Issues reading media between projects
I am very new to AVID MC, (MC 4.0.) so forgive me if this is a dumb question…
Long story short, I have Canon 1080 24f HDV and HDV 1080 24p (from HV20) footage taped for the same project. Seemingly, the only way to get the video is capture each, in different projects (for the different frame rates on capture) using my XH A1 in two different deck modes to get successfully capture the tapes. I have done just that, so far.
The problem I have now is the footage from each tape is now in 2 different projects. I have tried to import the Avid captured MXF files from one project to another. It simply doesn’t let me do this. It errors out, and tells me to “refer to documentation”.
I have read everything I can find about this, and perhaps this issue doesn’t happen for those who know MC well, I just don’t yet. I need both of these video files on the same timeline, for obvious reasons.
This same issue happens when I attempt to import anything MXF from my Focus Enhancements FS-5 drive too. with the FS-5 the DV MXF, and HDV MXF won’t import either, even though this is AVID MXF on the FS-5. What am I missing when it comes to importing? Feel free to tell me “duh”, I would just like to know, as I have deadlines.
