  • Issues merging two projects

I have created two projects because Vegas 12 Pro couldn’t deal with importing multiple (300+) Prores 422 files (fail #1).

I’m now trying to merge the two projects. Firstly, by having two projects opening at the same time and dragging from one timeline to another. This hasn’t worked because the files become ‘offline’ when they enter the new timeline, even though I have successfully dont this for previous projects (fail #2).

And now when I try to import a VEG and do it this way, the system crashes and some other files randomly go offline (fail #3).

My last resort was to render the first project as an uncompressed MOV, but I got an error that I was too low on memory despite running only 5gb RAM at the time and having 500GB of free space for a 90-second sequence (fail #4).

I would like to successfully edit my 2-minute project in Sony Vegas 12 Pro, on my i7 16gb RAM PC.

    Please advise.

Render each project independently to Sony MXF using the HD422 1920×1080-60i 50 Mbps template (or the equivalent for your project) and then drop those two files into a new project and render to whatever your final format it. Stay away for QuickTime rendering Its just not Vegas Pro’s strength.
