  • Issue with Source and Program Panels

Pardon the newbie question. I’m transitioning from FCP to APP and have a question about the difference in appearance between the Source and Program panels when using footage/stills larger than the sequence.

Here’s what I’m seeing… I have a DV (720×480) sequence and have imported an HD (1920×1080) clip. After placing the HD clip on the timeline the Source panel shows a center crop of the HD image using the DV dimensions. Why won’t it show me the entire HD clip? Also, after reducing the clips scale in the Effects panel, the change is reflected in the Program panel but the Source panel stays at 100%, center cropped to DV dimensions.

Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help.

    Kevin

PS – I have turn off the preference “Default scale to framesize” to prevent APP from downsampling the clip so I can do a pan-and-scan.
