Issue with Sony Vegas Pro 8.0

Hello, lately I’ve been having this problem while trying to render a video. I use sony vegas pro 8.0 C build, and I can’t seem to be able to render this 17-18 minute project I have been working on. The clips are not in high def, as they are gaming clips rendered at 640×480 or 720×480 and the music is regular quality as well. I have been able to render shorter videos with less editing with the same quality clips, but this one has been giving me issues for 2 weeks.
Sometimes the render will go smoothly, even up to 70% and vegas will instantly dissapear, or stop rendering [Preview screen is black and the percentage bar stays the same while the timer goes down]. Other times I get an exception error, containing this message:

I’ve googled this problem and it seems a problem with High definition clips [ or at least according to what I read], but as I stated above I don’t have any HD clips and I even re-rendered a handful that I thought may be too large. I have a 9800 gtx+, 3 gigs of ram, and a Q 6600 @ 2.40 ghz if that is of any use to anyone.

Hi Ed,

I am working in high-def on vegas 8 and seem to be having a very similar problem to yours. My project is only :30 seconds, but it always freezes on render – usually at about 77%. did you ever figure any solution(s) out?
