I am making a sports tutorial using FPC and I am in no means an expert in FCP – here is my issue – during a softball pitching motion I am trying to create a freeze frame – it looks fine in the window before I export the project but the movie I create has horizontal lines in the freeze frame when I play the resulting .mov file – I know the action I am using is a fairly quick motion but we use good cameras and when I tried the same type of action in the .imovie program it did not happen only in FCP – is there something I am doing wrong? Driving me crazy.

Thanks – I have learned much from the posts on this forum thank you for your time

you need to de interlace the freeze frame.

shift n makes a freeze frame export using quicktime conversion. Select still.

Bring that into Photoshop or image editing program that has a deinterlace filter.

That ‘s how I used to do it when I shot dvcam.

Or drop the “de-interlacer” effect on the clip before getting the freeze Frame.
