issue with exporting HD vid HURRY!!
when im trying exporting HD (microsoft DV AVI) movie with 1920 x 1080 resolution, and options are set to 16:9 but still it exports in 4:3 dimension and definitely the video is not the right resolution.. its like 768 x 540 or something like that.
it feels that what ever i put on frame size (resolution) and other options – it doesnt effect on the export video..
im asking you guys to tell me the right options on what to put when trying to export video, and im in a hurry kind of gotta do a dvd of one video till tomorrow. thanks very much

Hi Bagge,
There is no such such thing as HD DV AVI.
DV AVI is always SD (720×480 for NTSC), and so is the DVD standard.
If you are exporting for a DVD (settop player), choose Mpeg 2 DVD 720×480 (1.2 Widescreen). If the DVD is under 1 hour, choose 7.5 Mbps as the bit rate, for anything over 1 hour, use a bit rate calculator to find the right settings.
If on the other hand the footage is going to be seen on a computer only, you can export HD to H.264 and put the file on the DVD.

allright, thanks for your post mate.. yea i was thinking if it is possible to do the vid with h.264 into mp4 format, make it a image (so dvd player would recognize it) and burn to dvd.. so its possible right?
oh yeah, HD DV avi, what was i thinking..
well ill try that first option and second one, if both doesnt work or im crashing into issues, ill be back spamming this thread.. thanks again alot!!

Actually, it’s not really possible for most DVD players. Some newer units will play odd formats, but most will only play NTSC 720×480 Mpeg2.

Mate, im so glad!! i made it work just in time. without your help i would be still stuck on exporting.. the mpeg2 worked fine alltho i wondered why it made seperate audio file and allmost i burst into tears.. adobe encore dvd had no problems link those 2 files and now i got teh DVD all set ready to burst off!! thanks brotha i owe you one!!
