  Issue formatting backup drives

  Hello,

  Having a problem with external hard drives, here’s the info:

  I work on an editing team of five people, we still use final cut 7 and we’re all operating on Mac Pro desktops version 10.6.8 – we also use EditShare.

  We store our archives on 3TB Seagate Barracuda EHDs, which plugs into a Thermaltake BlacX 5G docking station.

  We only had one docking station, which worked on all of our computers. But recently we got tired of passing it around and bought some extra docking stations.

  Here’s the problem:

  The new docking stations will not read two of our newer hard drives on any of our computers. The original station still works fine.

  I’m hesitant to format the drives because I don’t want to delete their content…

  Any advice?
