  • Issue exporting to 16:9 ratio on DVD

I’m on a MAC and I’m trying to export a sequence out to 16:9. I have all the setting and the presets set to widescreen and 16:9, but when media encoder comes up, none of my settings are there. I can change the settings in Encoder, but the final output either comes out so that the image is cut off, or it comes out 4:3. Can anyone help?

Before I get the silly question of what about the TV and DVD player: My TV is a widescreen LCD that displays widescreen as default, my DVD player is set to display 16:9 when the DVD has it available. I’ve exported about 3 videos this way, and they all do one of the above mentioned errors…

You didn’t mention whether you were working in a 16:9 sequence, if you are not, you will need to import it into a new 16:9 sequence and do the needed stretching before exporting.

Does your media encoder output preview show any bars at the top or bottom?

Are you exporting to a third party DVD encoder other than Encore?

Could you post a few screenshots of your settings?
