    Thank you very much.

There is the DG or MG with different thread specs for each. Can you be more specific if I’m using a Panasonic 8.4 monitor?

I’ve experienced that even the heavy-duty Isreali arm is not strong enough to hold the 8.4″ monitor with a battery attached if you are moving the camera around, you’d be better off with a straight spud.

Trying to put a battery on a camera-mounted Panasonic 8.4″ monitor is insane.

Make a short cable bundle with video and power from the Anton Bauer plate on the camera. I alway travel with two of these, just in case a connector pulls loose.

With the heavy-duty arm, everything will be dandy.

    Good shooting!

I’ve had great success using a large Linhoff “ball head” which I purchased from B&H instead of the Isreaili arms (which are now filed away in a storage drawer). These units center up the weight of the monitor and provide ready “tilt” for adjustment of viewing angle based on the height of the camera. They’re a lot easier and faster to mount and dismount on the camera too!

I’m looking at the Linhof site trying to figure out which one of these would work. Also how does it attach to the camera?

OK, here’s a link to the item on Adorama’s website:

The attachment is made with a 1/4-20 threaded (headless) bolt. You just super glue it into the head and this way you don’t have to but a 1/4-20 to 3/8-16 adapter to put on the camera handle, which you pretty much have to do with an Isreali Arm to make it super-strong (and then use the 1/4-20 side on the monitor end).

Everyone who’s seen my Linhoff rig really likes it vis-a-vis the more typical Isreali Arm setup!
