I want to isolated a color (lime green bikini – only thing of that in entire scene) and keep it original while everything else is desaturated. I assume i use the “limit” function in the 3-way color corrector. how do I achieve this effect (same effect used on the recent “livestrong” commercials for the tour de france where everything is black and white except items in yellow.

    Thanks in advance

thank you so much, Jeremy. Now….here’s a hard one. I isolated the bikini (apple green), desaturated the woman and the background and now…is there a way to isolate a different color (she’s holding a yello/orange candy bar)?

tried two color correction filters, isolating the candy bar but the two cc filters together didn’t work (I tried rearranging their order also)

    thanks so much again

Try putting the new color correction on a separate layer, isolate the hand with a garbage matte.

    Check out my book. 😉

It has this and many other ideas about how to use the color corrector creatively.

Do a search for Eureka FCP plug-ins – there is a ‘selective color corrector’ there – it’s either free – or real cheap.
