when I use Nero 8 to burn a blue ray dvd using the iso file that vegas render left behind, the resulting disc, though produced, is not recognized by the player. Same player plays original blue ray render just fine.
Do I need to do something additional with the iso file to get it to get Nero to burn the contents as a copy of the original movie?

You might want to check with another Blu-Ray player to make sure its not simply an issue between your player and the specific brand of media you use.
