Is VP14 support H.265/HEVC importing? And MKV files?
Hello,
I have a question about Vegas Pro 14. Because of I just didn’t try.
According to “Supported formats” in https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/vegas-pro/specifications/ ,
Unfortunately, VegasPro14 cannot support the MKV file (import and export). Again go-to FFmpeg (for need remux mp4 from mkv).
Okay. I wonder, is it support importing video files with encoded H.265/HEVC (of course, provided that the file’s container is MP4)?
Why am I asking? “H.265/HEVC” not mentioned in the “Import” part of the “Supported formats” list.

It imports and exports hevc.

Just installed MVP 14 (trial version) importing H.265 files (mkv or mov) do not work. Exporting is fine. Can it be because it is a trial version?

The hevc files I imported are .mp4, from Samsung NX500, I imported FHD & 4K hevc versions aok.
Also exported to hevc from a h264 timeline ok.
So maybe it’s a container issue?

Forgot to say its not a trial version, although at times it is a bit of a trial

Thanks, John! It is indeed a problem of container, as you said. Just downloaded a sample file (from a NX1; mp4) and it works. So, batch stabilized files created with the standalone Mercalli v4 (mov), to spare time and space, have no chance (at least not for now). But this limitation is not critical.
