  • Is USB 3.0 viable for fast raid connections

I’m am looking for a fast storage connection for editing 4K compressed footage. For large video files would I be better off with:

Dual GbE (multiplexed), Thunderbolt (I’m on Windows so I don’t think there is a TB2 PCI card out), or USB 3.0?

I’m sure this has been answered a dozen times, but when I look through these threads it seems like most of the posts are keyed toward network configurations, which is not a concern for me.

USB3 theoretical bandwidth is 640 MB/sec. Of course a single drive can’t do this, so sure – get a RAID array with a USB3 interface, and you should be fine for 4K compressed footage.
