  • Is Timecode and Deck Control possible with Intensity Pro card and Keyspan converter?

With the Intensity Pro card, can I get deck control of an old Sony Beta SP deck with timecode into Final Cut Pro 7.0?

According to Blackmagic Design, deck control is possible with some decks – “On the Mac platform, Final Cut Pro 6.0 can control the deck (JVC BR-HD50U) via RS-422 using a Keyspan USB Twin Serial Adapter (USB to MiniDin8 serial ports) partnered with an Addenda SC-M/9M Mac-to-RS-422 cable.” I already have the Addenda RS232 to RS422 converter, so would just need the Keyspan USB Twin Serial Adapter. I’m presuming the ‘Twin’ version was chosen for some good reason – data speed maybe.

But for me the real advantage would be to have the tape timecode captured at the same time. Can anyone confirm if this is possible with the above setup?

    Thanks.
