Is this the best way to subtitle?
Hi,
I caption items for Deaf clients and the process I use is DVD architect. First listen to the movie/dvd and type into Word so I can use spell check. Then put into notepad. then bring into subtitle area of DVD Archtitect, then line up text boxes with sound via DVD Architect then burn as mpeg2 (Australia) PAL.
Is this the best way? I also use word because I have others helping me so that means there’s less training involved, they all know how to use word.
I would like to know if the programmes that ‘do it all at once’ are any better? I had a play with free subtitle workshop but it actually seemed more ‘fiddly’ than doing it the way I do it but maybe I’m not using it properly.
Also, I have Sony Vegas but only use that to chop things into episodes if needed, then I bring the episodes into Archtect and complete above process and put menu onto dvd. Are there any better faster ways to do this? using windows pc. thanks
