I’ve got AE7 and my friend has AE6.5 (me: PC, him: Mac) and we’re working on a project together. Is there any way for me to save out my AE files as an earlier version so that he can work on them too (that is the workflow unfortunately: me 1st, him 2nd)? Or is that just wishfull thinking?

as far as i know … no. sorry to dissapoint, best thing to do would be to render out your compositions uncompressed and transfer them to each other via email, ftp, dvd rom or what ever you want, sorry to be the bearer of bad news (correct me if im wrong though)

Urgh, yeah, that’s what I thought. Sucks, though, ’cause we need to share project files. Stupid. Why would that be such a difficult thing to include. I mean, sure, not for the new features, but how often do they upgrade or change the coding on Levels (e.g.)?

Well… why not just upgrade his copy of AE… he’ll be a happy camper.

Well, that would be the logical solution, but he can’t afford it and we’re on different platforms so we can’t share it either. Oh, well. I’m just gonna install 6.5 on my system as well as 7, should solve the issue.
