    Hiya,
Im just wondering if this is normal, Im making a dvd that is approximately 20 mins long.

When I open the vegas file it takes about 5 mins to open it. Also if I minimize the window to do something else and then maximise it, it takes about another 5 mins to let me start editting again.

When rendering at best quality it takes ages which is fine as I can leave it rendering overnight, but the 2 nights ago it crashed and gave me an error.

Last night I left it rendering, in the morning I came in at it was at 57% after 14 hours and has frozen at this point.

Is this the norm ? Or could it be something I am doing ? I am under pressure with this deadline as Im finished work this friday as college is starting on the monday.

This is the error it left 2 nights ago:

Sounds like you must have a TON of stuff in the Project Media. Do you have extra stuff there? Or only the stuff needed for this project?

When you minimize Vegas, it releases all files so that other programs can use them. When Vegas regains focus, it reattaches those files. You can turn that off in the preferences. But I’d start by clearing out all unneeded files in the Project Media.

I deleted all the files in project media that i didnt need but there is loads there that I do need. So I guess Im stuck with it taking ages to open. 🙁

Also I have to decide on a final year project to do.
Im studying computing with multimedia so basically they like you to include code in projects, but I would love to involve some video in this project.

Any ideas on how to join a project involving a good bit of code and video ? As I have really really taken a liking to video recording and editting.

    Thanks again

You could create code-based slides, backgrounds, moving letters/numbers/symbols, and put picture in picture media over top or beneath the moving letters/numbers/symbols just as one idea/suggestion.

Im sorry but I dont understand what you are saying here ? Code-based slides ? Im unsure what you mean, could you elaborate? Thank you for your quick response

will give you an example of what could be a background slide/title card with video playing over.
