So I’ve had the HVX200 for a long time and I generally love it, but I’ve commonly been a bit irked by the noise and pixelation.

I know I could try harder to be an HVX-nerd and experiment with all the millions of options. But I’ve recently read an article explaining how the native chips are relatively low res.

If not does anyone have any suggestions for reducing it?

I’m pretty sure I used the Cine-Spark scene file for this shot.

    Thanks!

I have no idea how you derived that still frame i.e. is it right from the camera or from a transcoded video. But yes it does look within the range of what I’d call ‘normal’ from the HVX200.

Yes, normal. A bit of noise there.

Your camera will shine with great lighting and colors in the scene.

Looks like your subject might have been moving slightly in that still which doesn’t help.

    That’s a 1/3 CCD camera.

That is normal. Adding a bit of light will help. It can’t hurt to put an on camera light outdoors.
