Is this a fair starter audio package?

    https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=15198&item=7314440851&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

I’m looking to spend about a thousand dollars on sound equipment, I’m wondering if you guys think this package is worth it. I don’t know what the reserve is though…what would be a fair one?

I’m looking to bid, and would appreciate your blessings or concerns. I’ve posted this in other websites but no one seems to be replying. =(

If the link doesn’t work, it’s a Sennheiser ME66 and ME67 and a GT10 booom pole with other accesories like windscreens.

    All comments appreciated, thanks!

I figured up what this list of gear would cost new (something you can easily do using Google) and it comes to around $1200-$1400.

Yes, it looks like some useful stuff.
Assuming everything works as it should, and if you can get it for a low enough price (only you and the seller can figure that out), have at it.

(My psychic powers tell me the Reserve price is around $850.)

BTW, the seller said something that struck me as ODD…
“We are selling this because after much deliberation the decision has been made to go completely wireless, but this kit is absolutely perfect for the filmmaker that wants a versatile system and quality audio but doesn’t want to break the bank.”

There is no reason this gear could not be used to feed a wireless transmitter.
But I’m guessing by “wireless” he means to say “wireless lavaliere body mics” (requiring no boom operator.)

As Thax pointed out, “Assuming everything works as it should.”

Mics are pretty delicate instruments, and you risk inheriting someone else’s problems whenever you don’t “try before you buy” used gear.

That said, the package in question should certainly get you started. I’ve always found the ME66 to be one of the better mics in it’s class.
