Is There Such A Thing?
Posted by Butch Golden on November 24, 2007 at 8:40 pmAs a showcase or a few links to some choice AE pieces and or finished product that can be publicly viewed?
For a few good reasons.
Clients that would like to get some understanding of it’s capabilities.Ambitious forum members to derive some inspiration from.
And for a benefactor who wants to help a few people by giving their careers a boost with new tools.
Many peeps I know have been very inspired to go deeper into this craft by even just some of the clips contributed to the showcase at Digital Juice. (I myself being one of those)
Just wondering what could happen if some of you wanted to share or know someone who already has – and where it can be seen.
Thanks millions

November 24, 2007 at 8:59 pmYou might care to visit the After Effects podcast page by clicking on the podcasts link in the orange bar above. There are about 80 great video examples of things to do and things to inspire you.
Aharon is an inspiring guy, especially after he’s run a few blocks in New York City.
Sorry for the bad pun…
Best regards,

I have the more than 2gb of podcasts on my HD and every set of project files I could find. They’ve been an incredible source of ‘Wow’ to me. Was thinking less of instructional though and more in the vein of say a segment from a movie or some recognizable venue like The History Channel etc. Then be able to say “That was done in AE” with the help of Boris FX or any of the other great plugins – addons available. It’s AE plus the other information that would get the most mileage in my effort to make connections.
I’m grateful to you and your Mrs. for your books / videos and to all the crew here who welcome all comers with a sincere willingness to help and give up time and talent to those eager to learn this great app and craft.

I have video tutorials there that focus mostly on the capabilities of After Effects, not on the final effects them selves.I hope it helps.

Lots of great tutorials of the kind where you can follow step by step and create some of the coolest stuff.
I love watching tutorials and learning how to create all sorts of cool effects. Then later when I’m watching TV and see something, I often get the feeling that “Hey, I know how you can do this in After Effects” and thats probably how it was done, or a similar process in something like Autodesk Combustion or Flame. -

November 25, 2007 at 8:43 pmConsider that many examples that are limited to one app are technical or “how-to” in nature.
If you seek design inspiration, you may wish to visit motionographer.com to see examples of good design. Yes, those examples are not limited to After Effects (or Combustion or Flame), but with time you (and others) will be able to spot those animations which were created with After Effects and those which were created with a 3D app such as Cinema 4D.

November 26, 2007 at 6:05 amCheck this out. https://www.timelinegfx.com. A cool site showing motion graphics in layers, like the Digital Juice stuff but different. Some combinations created with After Effects and Cinema 4D.
There’s some free clips too all with alpha channels
They also have pre-keyed actors like ribbit films and post holes but don’t cost nearly as much.I also go on motionographer often for inspiration and these others.

November 26, 2007 at 6:38 amHey all
Many thank you’s for these links.
I got one of those ‘can’t get it sorted. can’t find answers problems with Flash not wanting to run in my browsers’ at the moment however and the Flash-propelled sites will have to wait a bit.Outside of that, am seeing some great stuff and a good place to start.
You’ve all been very helpful.
