Is there such a thing as too much RAM?
As the title asks! In premier 64bit is there such a thing as too much, if I wanted to add 64GB of RAM to my new machine (which I can do, it’s a 2011 socket i7) would I be able to make use of it to render and during editing or does Adobe have a max out point before that? It’s a lot of money if it’s not going to be used.

In a word, no. I’m not sure if PPro would use all of that but After Effects sure might. I was doing a 2K project recently with 32GB and AE still managed to use all of that. And then if you have a couple of programs open it helps even more. Also AE has this multi processor setting that renders several frames at once by using every processor. If it’s an HD project you have to have some serious RAM or it just bogs. On that same project AE was unusable with this turned on with 32GB. I have a 12 core machine though.
