Is there Apple ProRes 4444 codec for After Effects Windows version?
So much conflicting information around after Apple discontinued Quicktime player for Windows. Some say it means ProRes is gone from PC forever, but I saw some posts saying that even though player is discontinued, the codec is alive and well and is actually built-in the last releases of Premiere Pro, After Effects and Resolve for Windows. Can anyone confirm, please? Thank you.

You can import Prores footage but you can’t export it from Windows versions of Adobe software.

Yes, that was my understanding as well, but someone sent me this link and claims they work on PC with ProRes. (exporting footage in ProRes)
He claims CC 2015.3 comes with a built-in ProRes codec.

For importing footage without having to use Quicktime. There is no exporting.

Hey guess ur Compositions aint working like mine?
The problem is with Quicktime player not the codecs.
So from my research just install the codecs not the player.
Just avoid the player , plugin and everything else

Where can I get the codecs? There used to be one on the Apple page, but they removed it. Installing/uninstalling quicktime player didn’t do anything for me. 🙁
