May 5, 2005 at 4:34 amFor paint programs, there’s The Gimp and Paint.net
As for compositors, I don’t know of any free ones besides Zwei-Stein. Avid has a free editing program that may have limited compositing capabilities, but I don’t know for sure.

May 10, 2005 at 12:54 amI don’t have many of the magazines around any more, but I did check the CDs that came with them. Below is a listing of some of what I have collected and from which magazine:
Computer Arts
– Black Magic 2.0 (convert B&W photos to color)PC Answers
– Paint Shop Pro 5Quick & Easy Windows
– AutoSketch 5
– 5,00 royalty free photosPC Tools
– Movie Edit Silver
– Pure Motion EditStudio 2
– Advanced X Video Converter
– particleIllusion SE3D World
– Truespace 4.3
– Six Training VideosDigital PhotoEffects
– Great tutorials on Adobe Elements, Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro
– 16 video lessons for the above programsI will usually hit our local magazine store once a week on my lunch to check out what is new. I would recommend you to do the same (maybe not once a week though).
Hope this helps…
