    You can use propertyGroup() to go up the chain. For example, propertyGroup(1).name.length will give the length of the name of property group one level up, which might be the effect itself.
    If not, try propertyGroup(2).name.length and so on until you get to the effect level.

    Thanks loads Dan. I’m using the expression:

    propertyGroup().name.length;

    and it’s returning the length of the effect name. Just what I was after.
