Is there an alternative to the Sony SxS memory card reader/writer?
Posted by Harvey Zinc on March 7, 2008 at 5:50 pmThe Sony SBAC US10 needs external power, which makes it awkward on location. Is there an alternative reader/writer that is powered through the laptop available yet?
Thanks,

July 3, 2010 at 5:36 pmHey Guys,
Just came across this… has anyone tried it? Looks like it should be a viable solution for $45?

“Viable” depends on your firmware.
MxR, MxM, Hoodman, with good SDHC cards (Sandisk Extreme Class 10, ATP Class 6 are examples). What you link to seems to be a CF card reader that can link to an Express bus. EX doesn’t use CF cards (unless you’re using ConvergentDesigns add ons).
