  • Is there a way to save logging info between cards and sessions?

    Two questions:

1 – I’m logging AVCHD footage. Each time I go to a new clip, all the logging info needs to be re-entered. Sometimes though, it’s the same thing, and I want to keep the scene and shot the same over multiple clips. Is there a way to do this?

2 – Is there a way to save logging info so I have the presets saved everytime I turn on FCP? It seems like it’ll save your different choices, e.g. the different scenes you have entered, during the same session, but that after you close FCP and open it later, all that is lost. Can I change that?

FCP7? Check out the “Name Preset” capabilities in L&T. It works ok.

Again, check out the presets. You can save different ones.

This sounds like a dumb question, but where is the “name preset” capability? I’ve looked online for this and in FCP but can’t find it.

    And, yeah, it’s FCP 7

In the log and transfer window on the bottom right side with all the logging information, there’s a drop down menu called the Name Preset. You should mess around with it.
