Is there a way to render a short loop into a longer video?

Why do I want to render a 6 second loop to a 6 minute video (3 minutes was a typo)?

It’s for my bands show. We have 16 Dell 4:3 monitors on stage in groups of three. Each monitor in the group shows a different video.

One of the songs requires the use of four different looping videos.

The way our system works, triggering and syncing videos to the songs, requires the videos to be the length of the songs.

So, I have to render these short loops to full-length videos.

Instead of copying a looping clip then pasting it 60 times (four different clips for four different videos translates to 240 pastes), I’m wondering if I can use the transport’s loop function to render the looping clip to a video of a specified length?

Even if you could do that, there would be a momentary pause while it jumped back to the head of the file.

Just cut and paste it 60 times. Hire an affordable assistant editor to come in for a couple of hours and do it for cheap if you have to. 60 “paste-paste-pastes” is not really that hard.

Plus you realise once you have pasted 10 times you have a minute. Copy that minute and paste six more times and you have your six minutes. That makes 16 pastes for six minutes. Do the math and there is probably a smaller number of pastes to get the six minutes

Yep … I already did the cut and pastes.

I know the cut and pastes are simple. I was just hoping to learn something new about DaVinci Resolve.

I guess it does not have such a feature.

No I get yaa Chris.
I too get curious when it comes down to the basics.
Maybe an option like the old “Fit to fill” but have it set to loop clip.
But in the end most of us (Im old) have it ingrained in our heads to use the oldest known key commands with our tools 🙂

I have used the stand alone Fairlight for 14 years and it does have a fit to fill range function where you copy a clip, mark an in/out and then select fill. It is amazingly handy for creating room tone atmos fills. There is also an option to reverse every alternate clip which creates a seamless room tone unless there is something in the sound that seems weird in reverse. I really hope that is one of the many aspects of Fairlight that make it into the Resolve version. And then why not have it in the edit page as well to do similar with picture and sound?

I doubt it is a priority but I for one hope it makes it across from Fairlight.

Yep … this is exactly what I did.
But I posted my question anyhow, hoping to possibly learn a new Resolve feature, that I now assume does not exist based on the responses.
