Is there a way to record live camera feed into FCP edit window like audio?
Hi
Im surprised that there are as little to no applications on Mac that record video like audio, even if its hardware dependant., The Quicktime App can be duplicated to capture multiple cams via USB, USB-C or FW etc and OBS live streams multiple cams yet nothing out there allows one to simply connect a camera – dslr etc (not fake time) and record directly into their timeline just as if you do with DAWs (audio).
Does anyone know of a solution for this?

I second the Softron MovieRecorder. I’ve been using it for at least five years now. It’s an amazing piece of software. You can upgrade to their hardware based systems depending on how many streams you need to record. I use it mainly for live editing in FCP. Once the stream starts you can start editing in FCP after about 3-4 seconds.
