I discovered the other day that you can use P2 viewer to create a separate library of non-playable, thumbnail, Proxy files so I can see what’s on the archive I’m creating. IE As I archive our P2 media back to LTO Tape, I’m keeping a P2 Proxy library live so I can see what’s on each P2 card.

Unfortunately, I didn’t spot that the P2 Viewer was MOVING the files not Copying them and I deleted the Proxy file (to start again with a tidier version), thinking that I’d have the original Proxy folder on the virtual P2 cards.

I have the folder but it’s now empty.

So – is there a way of recreating Proxy media from the P2 viewer?

    I hope so but I feel not…
