is there a plugin like (generate)STROKE – but third-party?

yes, original built-in generate/STROKE is just fine…
But for the thousand time I have the same, one difficulty…I want to reveal some picture by stroke, and I have for example 30 paths (in this particular moment roads and rivers, and other things from map)
all of these elements on picture are in different thickness…stroke can manage all paths “globally” or one at the time, so solution is to duplicate effect for every path, or create different layers for groups of paths.. yes, and i will do this also this time.
But I’m wondering is there a simple, plug-in similar to stroke, but whit capability to manage groups of path’s, in one plug-in. and maybe some extra features like thickness in the beginning and in the end (like 3d stroke) something to prevent un-propotional scaling issue when using collapsed pre comps whit reveal vectors inside.
like build-in in ae gradient “ramp” and third-party Genarts sapphire tremendous gradients.
so maybe there is somewhere superduper third-party stroke 2d ? 😉
i’m not specialist in programming plug-in but it seams quite easy to develop -

The Effect>Generate>Write-on effect does what you want. But be forewarned that it can be quite slow. I don’t know of anything else.

unfortunately this is not what I mean 😉
it is interesting, and I didn’t know this effect, but it is not “stroke on steroids”
or I’m blind / or my knowledge of expressions is not enough to use it like “stroke on steroids” 😉only one way to apply this to path is by expression and I can apply this only to one path at the time, (my expression level is basic, not magician 😉 – (there is no option from plug-in panel for paths ) or I’m blind
there is no way to mange group of paths (for example from 1 to 5 and from 7 to 8 and from 43 to 49)
and reveal option (or paint) is on only where the “pointer” is at the moment, when I move pointer, revel goes to, so I cant reveal 55 roads from png map every road whith difrent path, different thiknes, and different speed of reveal, 55 different paths – BUT one plug-in – that what I’m after forbut I’m very thank fool for idea 🙂

oh i watch tutorial, sory. actually it does path, but it is still, one efect, for one path, a
but I want something like
one layer with 55 paths on it, and one stroke on steroids to manege this

have u tried write on effect for varying thickness? not vector so be careful

With different taper values at different points in time for different masks – I doubt such an effect exists. Looks like you will have to make do with individual masks or streamline effect instancing such that you can group masks that share similar tapering and time-related effects together.
