No sorry. What is that you want to clone. Still or a video. if it is a still, just do it in Photoshop, if it is a video you could set the shot in another motion document, then duplicate the layer and mask it, then move the mask in the position were it need to be covering dust scratches. Do this as many times as you want then re-render the video with the same settings (codec) as original footage. This could be a lot of work as I do not know how much of cloning you need to do. I hope this helps.

Another possibility is to use dust and scratches filter (only if you want to remove dust and scratches from your footage) make sure you have applied the filter to a duplicated layer, then you need to mask what you need or don’t need. Dust and scratches is available via Boris Continuum 6 set of plugins. You have a 15 days trial (fully functional). Get it from Boris FX website.

Maybe not so basic. Not to many programs do it. But Photoshop is now one of those few, and it has paint tools that far exceed what most motion graphics programs can do. Including its sibling AE.

going to photoshop, although a great solution it is not a quick one.

And it is a pretty basic. Avid has had this incorporated in the NLE for years.

oh well, I can do it in AE. no worries.

Combustion’s roto and paint tools put anything in AE to shame. Unfortunately, the Mac version is only certified to run properly on Tiger, and it will most likely never be updated to run properly on Leopard or Snow Leopard.
