  • Is there a new version of AE in the works?

Posted by Richard Scott on October 21, 2005 at 12:23 pm

Currently, I am using 6.5 professional, but I am wondering if anyone has heard whether or not there is a new version of After Effects coming soon?

    Thanks.

Why would we remove things like this? Simple…

We do not encourage nor do we tolerate breaches of NDAs and we subscribe to the belief that were we to sign an NDA with your company, you would not wish us to go around blabbing everything publicly that you wish kept private.

We extend the same courtesy to Adobe and other manufacturers.

The only people that know are those on the beta team that are under NDAs. Everyone else is just guessing.

Because fo this, we can and do often remove things like this.

Then you will be happy to know that I haven’t entered into a NDA with Adobe or anyone else nor did ask to have one breeched.

Adobe’s been guiding the market for 8 months that AE7 and the Vid. Collection would be released in the fourth quarter ’05. However, this news is generally buried in their financial reports or discussed in investor conference calls.

I know it sounds crazy, but most public companies are more open about target release time frames with investors than they are with the creatives that use their products. Most of the release dates of many softwares are targeted (by quarter) in financial reports even when you can’t get an answer from a rep at a trade show or conference. Most reps have to play the “no comment” game. Meanwhile the CEO and execs are providing clearer guidance to wall street via their financial reports and conference calls.

Not all companies… but this does apply to a great number of publicly traded companies.
