  • Is the Adobe Creative Cloud debate dead?

I checked the ‘Adobe Creative Cloud debate’ forum here at the Cow. And the last post there was Oct 2017. In the entire 2017, there were 3 posts at that forum. As many as this forum sees in an hour on a good day.

Not sure if this is because the debate over Adobe CC is dead, or because the debaters are mostly here on the FCP X debate forum.

It’s dead because there is nothing to debate. The subscription genie is out of the bottle and will only grow larger/more expensive as time goes on.

I think the debate is largely dead. It’s been almost five years since Adobe went CC only, and judging by how well it’s worked out for Adobe, they aren’t going back.

It’s been six years since Apple moved to FCP X. Judging by how many ‘seats’ of
FCP X they have sold, I’m pretty sure Apple is not going back either.

2018 would a good time to phase out all of the “debate” aspects of Adobe Cloud as well as FCPX vs. Premiere.

Each option has now firmly entrenched itself into the production world and if this forum is any gauge, most folks seem quite content with the choices made.

    I’d like to debate that.
