Is the AC3 encoder built-in to Vegas6 ??
I have Vegas4 and had it all working until I had to reformat my HardDrive. Upon reinstalling Vegas4, when I go to render an AC3 audio file….a box pops-up from Sony saying I have to BUY the plugin at $199
I about fell off my chair….
My old version of Vegas4 before the HD reformat use to do 5.1 AC3 renders with no problems.
Sooooo…. I decided to just “dump” Vegas4 and I have bought Vegas6 over the Internet (but product wont be here for another 3-4 days)
QUESTION: when I install Vegas6 “right-out-of-the-box” will I have the ability to render AC3 files??? Or will I have to go download some plugin? If I have to download something…PLEASE HELP ME on what to do… I’m stupid about such things.
Sidenote: I have DVD-Architect1.0 but have since uninstalled and installed the TRIAL version of 4.0 off Sonys website. I’m know working off a 30day trial. I plan to buy 4.0 on or around the 30th day.

The AC3 encoding is included when you install DVD Architect.

So what you are saying is….
…if I want to do a Save-As *.ac3 audio file DIRECTLY out of Vegas, I have to have the latest DVD-Architect (like 4.0) installed????
please confirm.

I think you’ll get it back if you reinstall DVDA 1.
