  • Is the 30 day demo incomplete?

Posted by Saeed Faridzadeh on September 23, 2006 at 11:51 pm

I downloaded the 30 day demo version off the adobe, and going through the Adobe Classroom in a book.
On lesson 5 it’s asking for me to corner pin a layer. Except I don’t seem to have corner pinning as a filter. I looked in the help files and see that corner pinning is only in the PRO version, which I thought was what Adobe offered to us in their demo.

    Any thoughts on this?

I would have thought Adobe would offer us the right version needed to tackle their Courseware books.

    thanks

I loaded up the end file for lesson 7. Keying
It’s saying the following filters are also missing:Color Difference Key, Matte Chocker, Spill supressor, and keylight

I don’t mean to sound pissy, but what gives? the demo is suppose to be the full thing for 30 days.

I believe it has both to do with keeping the download size to a minimum, as well as keeping hackers off the trial versions.

You must be doing something wrong. All of the filters are included in the trial except the extra third-party tools like Cycore effects, the MPEG-II encoder etc. and of course the content like templates and some animation presets. The basic keying filters you mentioned definitely must be there – I should know, as I once didn’t have the install media ready and used the downloaded trial in combination with my serial to get a full AE Pro.

well i can understand about the hackers, the file download size seems a little dubious. I don’t think a few extra filters would add that much.

I’m just a little disgruntal that I can’t fully complete some of the tutorials from the book without having these filters included.

I don’t think Keylight is included in the demo, and like Mylenium says – third party plugs and some templates/presets are missing too. All the other keying filters and corner pin should be there though…I’m sure they were on mine.
